Community Outreach

In addition to our ongoing Community Impact project, the Junior League of Ocala offers support to nonprofit agencies operating in Marion County through our Community Actions Volunteering Program, "Done In A Day".

Done In A Day: volunteering and financial support

The "Done In A Day" program hosts volunteering events providing thousands of volunteer hours for short-term projects for charities and community organizations. Typical projects include assistance with painting, gardening, special events or physical improvements.  Most projects can be completed in one day, typically a Saturday or Sunday, although events can be scheduled on a weekday or weeknight.  Funding of up to $500 is available and must be specifically related to the project described on the application.  Requests must include the need for volunteers; requests for funding only are not accepted.

Our events include but are not limited to:

  • Mentoring the mothers at Project Hope
  • United Way's Day of Caring at the Boys and Girls Club
  • Painting at PACE
  • Serving breakfast at Interfaith
  • Planting Community Garden for West Ocala Wellness Community Garden
  • Drives for: toiletry items, hygiene items, cleaning items, bed linens and towels, and more
